Palm Desert Lizard Sculpture

Large abstracted rock formations made from rusted steel reveal an image of a lizard when viewed from a certain angle. Stainless steel is used for the plant forms. When viewed from straight on, an image of a lizard appears among the otherwise seemingly random rock shapes.

This effect of the lizard appearing with the viewer’s motion around the sculpture mirrors the real-world effect of many lizards not being noticeable to the eye until they move. Click here to view a 3D model of this project.
