CAD (Computer Aided Design) is used heavily in the process of designing, presenting, and analyzing a sculpture. By creating virtual 3D models of the sculpture, all the details can be worked out before a single piece of metal is cut. This helps in two ways: the client will know exactly what they are getting, and there is a much lower chance of any unwanted "surprises" along the way.
